Turning an idea for technical collaboration into a product

Eraser had an idea for a collaborative workspace built for technical teams. We provided its first product team and turned the concept into a working MVP in three months.
Built Eraser’s first market-ready product in three months.
Combined a collaborative canvas, document editor, and diagram-as-code workflow.
Helped create the foundation for growth to more than one million users in the first year.
Eraser wanted to combine a browser-based canvas with a document editor in a single collaboration tool.
The founders did not yet have an engineering team, so they needed a partner that could define the technical approach and build the first version quickly.
Docs and diagrams in one workspace
We assembled a multidisciplinary product team and built the MVP from scratch.
The product combined a drawable canvas, Markdown-capable documents, team collaboration features, and diagram-as-code, allowing users to create diagrams from simple text syntax.

Write the idea. Draw the system. Keep them together
Instead of moving between separate documentation and diagramming tools, teams can keep technical writing and visual thinking in one place.
Diagram-as-code gives users another way to move quickly between an idea and a structured diagram.

Ship quickly without closing off what comes next
We worked iteratively as Eraser’s requirements evolved, balancing the tradeoffs required to get a first version into users’ hands with the need for a foundation that could continue to grow.

Three months to launch. One million users in year one.
The MVP launched three months after work began. Eraser went on to reach more than one million users in its first year and expand its internal engineering team.
