Turning complex documents into usable data

Impira was making a defining shift: moving from intelligent content search to AI-powered document extraction. We embedded with its team to advance the extraction engine, redesign the customer experience and deliver a critical launch on time.
Advanced an AI-powered query engine that turns complex documents into structured, searchable data.
Redesigned onboarding and introduced a consistent visual system across the product.
Automated deployments, saving engineers hours of repetitive release work each week.
Impira’s new direction required more than a refreshed interface. The team needed to evolve the product’s core functionality and customer experience together, under the pressure of a critical launch date.
We joined the team to help deliver that transition, from document extraction and onboarding to subscription payments and the infrastructure behind each release.
AI extraction, onboarding, payments, and deployment
We worked inside Impira’s product and engineering team on its document query engine for semi-structured and unstructured files.
We also integrated Stripe, redesigned key first-time-user flows, introduced a new visual system, and built tooling to automate product deployments.

Upload a document. Find the data inside it.
Impira uses machine learning to identify and extract information buried inside documents that do not follow a simple structure.
Users can then work with that information through a more consistent interface rather than processing each document manually.

Remove friction for customers and engineers
Our work spanned the product interface and the development process behind it.
New onboarding flows supported customers taking their first steps. A shared visual system brought consistency across the application. Automated deployments removed repetitive release tasks, giving engineers more time to improve the product.
A critical launch delivered on time
Our work helped Impira meet its redesign launch date while advancing its AI functionality, customer experience, and release infrastructure. The continuous deployment system saved engineers hours of manual work each week, creating an ongoing benefit beyond the launch itself. In 2023, Impira was acquired by Figma.
